The aim of these recommendations is to improve coexistence and make the Via Augusta Penedès route more pleasant to follow:
Prepare the route and adjust it to your possibilities. If you use GPS or a mobile phone, check that it works beforehand.
Let someone know the route you want to take.
Check the weather forecast.
For hikers: always wear good shoes, appropriate clothing, a hat and/or sunscreen.
For cyclists: in addition to the obligatory equipment, such as a helmet, it is advisable to bring gloves and the essential tools for fixing punctures and other small repairs en route. Don't forget sunscreen either.
Although you will find fountains, restaurants and shops along the route, always take water and food with you.
Respect the environment: do not litter or pick up natural elements.
Don't disturb the wildlife.
Remember that the early morning, until midday, is the best time to walk or cycle.
If you walk with children, you can motivate them by putting them in context (Asterix and Obelix comics can be a great help).
